Seeing the teams
- Teams come out when the Manager publishes them, usually on the day. Everyone playing gets a Teams are out notification.
- Until then, the Teams tab says to check back closer to kick-off, and shows the last result.
- Tap any name to see their player card.
Reading the teams screen
- List or Formation, top right: List shows each team as a list; Formation shows both teams on a pitch, keepers in goal, with each player's rating. Byb remembers which you picked. Managers can tap a player in either view to move them.
- Balance: each side's share of the total strength, like 51 / 49. Closer to 50 / 50 is fairer.
- Head to head: each attribute compared side by side, with the closest call and widest gap.
- Positions: how many keepers, defenders, midfielders and strikers each side has.
- AVG next to a name means they haven't been rated yet and count as the group average.
- A small green arrow means a player is on a win streak and boosted.
- Colours: Bibs show in your group's bib colour, which the Manager sets in Group settings. Non-bibs show in blue, or orange if your bibs are blue.
How Byb picks fair teams
- It checks every possible split of the players who are in and picks the most even one, on overall rating and each attribute.
- Keepers are shared out so each side gets one where possible.
- With an odd number, the smaller side gets slightly stronger players.
- It mixes up who plays together compared with the last few weeks.
- With roast awards on, whoever has the Stinky Bib always wears the bibs.
Picking and publishing teams Managers and Assistants
- On Home, tap Pick teams (at least two people need to be in).
- Byb suggests two balanced teams. Tap a player to move them to the other side; the balance updates as you go.
- Tap Regenerate for a different even split.
- Tap Publish and share. Everyone playing is told, and the matchday poster is made.
If one side has two or more extra players, Byb asks you to check before publishing. To change published teams before kick-off, tap Change teams.
