Paying online and receipts

Paying online

1. Tap Pay next to a fine or your subs.
2. Choose card (including Apple Pay and Google Pay) or PayPal. You'll see the exact amount first.
3. By card, Stripe's secure payment window opens right here in Byb, in Byb's colours with your group's name at the top. Enter your card or tap Apple Pay or Google Pay. With PayPal, you pay on PayPal's own page and come back.
4. It's marked paid automatically, and your Manager is told. Tap Done to carry on, or View receipt.

• The money goes straight to your group's own Stripe or PayPal account. Byb never sees your card details and takes no cut: the card form inside Byb is Stripe's own, and what you type goes straight to Stripe.
• Closed the window by mistake? Nothing is taken until you tap Pay. Tap Pay next to the fine again.
• Your group may add a small payment fee so it receives the full amount. You always see it before you pay. Paying your Manager in person has no fee.
• Payment on its way means your bank is still confirming it. It will show as paid when it comes through.

Paying by bank transfer

1. Tap Pay next to a fine or your subs, then Pay by bank transfer.
2. Byb shows your Manager's account name, sort code and account number, the amount and a reference (like TNF FINE TOM B). Tap Copy next to each one and paste it into your banking app.
3. If your Manager has added a Monzo, Revolut or PayPal link, you can tap Pay with Monzo (or Revolut, or PayPal) instead. Monzo and PayPal open with the amount filled in.
4. Send the money, come back to Byb and tap I've paid.

• Your Manager is told to check their bank. Until they do, it shows as Waiting for the Manager to confirm.
• When they confirm it, it's marked paid and you get a notification. If it hasn't arrived, you're told so you can check it went through, then tap I've paid again.
• There's no fee, and the money goes straight to your Manager's bank. Byb never sees or holds it.
• Only pay into the details shown in Byb. If anyone messages you different bank details, check with your Manager first.

Your payments and receipts

• Tap your photo, then Payments & receipts, to see everything you've paid, by month, across all your groups.
• Card and PayPal payments have a receipt (numbered like BYB-2026-00001). Open it to Save as PDF or Share.
• Cash and bank transfers your Manager marks as paid are listed too, but have no receipt.
• Stripe and PayPal also email you their own receipt.

Refunds

• Only the Manager can refund an online payment. You'll get a notification.
• Card refunds go back to your card automatically and can take 5 to 10 days to arrive.
• For PayPal, the Manager sends the money back from their own PayPal account.
• Your receipt then shows it as refunded.
